About Renee

Renee Yeo (b. 1999) is a Multi-Disciplinary Artist born and based in Singapore. Graduated with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fine Art with University of the Arts London (UAL) conferred by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. She previously graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Chinese Media & Communication. Notable works include "My Ah Gong is Kinmenese" (2024), a research film project that examines cultural hybridity. This film is part of the 2025 official selection of the Kuala Lumpur International Film Academy Awards.

 

Renee explores the fluidity of identities within the context of cultural hybridity. Incorporating both personal memories and cultural elements, her artistic practice delves into the intricate interplay between individual identity and collective heritage.

 

With a diverse body of work encompassing art installations, photography, and films, Renee's creative journey unfolds as a reflection of how identities shift and transform over time. Themes of family and belonging recur throughout her work, serving as a constant thread that ties together narratives of cultural heritage and personal experience. Renee aims to emphasise the fluidity of identities, inviting viewers to engage in a dialogue about the ever-evolving nature of self and society.
